Maintenance, so you never think about it
Websites do not stay working on their own. Domains expire, certificates lapse, hosts change things, and prices on the page go out of date. This is the arrangement where all of that is simply handled.
- Cost
- R350 per month
- Billing
- 6-monthly or annual
- Lock-in
- None
What is covered
- Hosting and domain renewal. Both included in the fee, and both renewed on time. The single most common way a small business site dies is an expired domain nobody was watching.
- Automated backups. Taken on a schedule, stored off the server, and periodically restore-tested so they are known to work.
- Security and software updates. Dependencies, certificates and server-side components kept current.
- Uptime monitoring. Automated checks, with alerts to us, so downtime is usually being dealt with before you hear about it.
- Small content changes. Prices, hours, photos, staff, a new page. Usually turned around same day.
- Bug fixes. If something that used to work stops working, fixing it is included, not billed.
- A person who answers. WhatsApp or email, to someone who worked on the build, rather than a ticket queue.
Why it is one flat number
Hourly support contracts create a bad incentive for both sides: you hesitate to report a small problem because it costs money, and problems get worse in the meantime. A flat R350 removes the calculation. Report the typo. It is fine.
What it does not cover
New features, additional modules, redesigns, content writing, and paid advertising. Those are real work with real cost and pretending otherwise would just mean the retainer quietly becomes a bad deal for one of us. They get quoted separately.

Questions we get asked
Is the retainer compulsory?
No. It is an add-on and plenty of clients decline it. If you take it, it is month to month with no lock-in, billed six-monthly or annually. Cancel and you keep the site.
What counts as a small change?
Updating prices, swapping a photo, changing opening hours, adding a staff member, fixing a typo, adding a page. Anything that takes under about half an hour is simply included rather than counted.
What is not included?
New features, new modules, redesigns and anything that meaningfully expands what the site does. Those get scoped and quoted separately, so the retainer stays a predictable number rather than a vague allowance we argue about.
Do you maintain sites you did not build?
Sometimes. It depends on how it was built and whether the code is something we can work with safely. We will look at it and give you a straight answer, including if that answer is no.
What happens if the site goes down?
Uptime monitoring alerts us, often before you notice. For hosting or DNS problems we deal with the provider on your behalf rather than handing you a support ticket number.
